Did you know you can replace the classic Pinterest Pin it button with a custom button that matches your website? That red button is nice but doesn’t look good on all websites. And making your own button might seem complicated if you are not familiar with image editing software. To come to your aid, I’ve created 10 buttons that you can download and install on your site. Hopefully, one of the eight colors matches your site. If not, you can use the other two to make your own icon.
The buttons are 55 x 55px in PNG file format.
They are for personal use only! You can share them on your blog or social media as a link to my site, but you are not allowed to sell or redistribute them as your own.
How to install a custom Pinterest Pin it button on WordPress
First, go to Plugins/Add New and install the jQuery Pin it Button. Activate the plugin and follow these steps to add a custom hover button:
- Go to the Pin It plug-in settings, it’s located under Settings.
- Under Visual, find the Custom “Pin It” button section
- Make sure to check the “Use custom image” box
- Upload the custom image and save
Enjoy your new Pin it button! Please share if this tutorial was useful.
I just got this set up, and now matter what I try it will only use my Blog title as the description on the pin. Do you know how to fix this? I looked in the support forums and it looks like no one is responding to questions anymore.
Have you tried changing the ‘Description Source’? You can change it from the Visual tab, it’s at the top of the page. There’s a drop-down menu with a few options including page description, image description, and image alt attribute.
